Yoga Carmel Creek Park
What to Expect:
Build Fall-Prevention Skills: We target the core and lower body muscles—like the quadriceps and stabilizing ankle muscles—that are essential for catching yourself if you trip.
Restore Physical Confidence: Move past the "fear of falling" that can often lead to social isolation or avoiding activities you love. Studies show that regular yoga consistently reduces this fear and improves gait speed.
Enhance Body Awareness: Improve your "proprioception"—your body's ability to sense its position in space—through mindful transitions and focused "drishti" (gazing points).
Maintain Independent Living: Strengthen the functional movements used in everyday tasks, such as carrying groceries or standing up from a chair with ease.
Yoga at the Park
Sunday 10 am
This class is designed to keep you moving well and feeling great as you age. Specifically geared toward students 40 and older, this session blends classic yoga postures with targeted mobility exercises to enhance your daily life.
Class uses blocks and bands to build eccentric strength and deepen the connection between body and mindful movement.
Thursday 6 pm
Thursday Night Yoga in the Park Series. Every Thursday night, we will gather on the grass to breathe the fresh air, stretch out the week's tension, and dive into a completely unique, playful theme. Students are welcome to get as dressed up as much or as little as they prefer. Here is a taste of what we have planned for you:
"Mrs. Roper" Night: Channel your inner 70s sitcom icon! Throw on your most colorful, flowing caftan and your biggest chunky jewelry. We will flow to a nostalgic, retro soundtrack and embrace our most fabulous, carefree selves.
Padres Night: Let’s celebrate our home team! Rock your favorite brown and gold gear, snap some fun group pictures, and enjoy a lively, upbeat flow designed to build strength and mobility for your active San Diego lifestyle.
Yoga in Pajamas: The ultimate stress relief. Show up in your comfiest flannel bottoms, oversized tees, or loungewear. We will focus on deep, restorative stretching and calming breathwork to guarantee you get the best night of sleep all week.
Reconnect with your body and mind as you escape the noise of everyday life.
